Tiger O'Stylies fight turns out to be nothing

The owner of Tiger O’Stylies, in the 6300 block of Ogden, called police to say a member of the band at the bar was arguing with another guy and they took it out front. Police spoke with the band member, who told them he did argue with a guy he knows, but said that man had already left the scene.

Calls came in about a woman yelling and walking in traffic at Cermak and Clarence. Police found a barefoot woman in a tank top and jeans; she was Maria D. Alvaro-Lopez, 23, of Glendale Heights. She was walking with a Hanover Park man she had met on the street. She said friends had left her there as a joke because she "scares easy." The man was wanted on a Hanover Park warrant; the woman was allowed to go home.

Angry wife yells at man in front of sandwich customers

A man employed by Mr. Sub near 26th and Ridgeland called police because his wife showed up at his work and started yelling at him in front of customers. He told her to go home so they could discuss her concerns in private but the 24-year-old woman would not leave, so he called police. An officer spoke with the angry wife, advising her to go home and not bug the man at work.

Impatient middle-of-night knocker

A woman in the 1800 block of Harlem called police about a disturbance. She heard someone pounding on the door of the building, then heard glass breaking. Police arrived to find the side window of the front door apparently kicked in.

Rowdy youths booze it up with parents away

Calls of a loud disturbance took police to the 1300 block of Wesley. The were met at the door by the 18-year-old host, who said he was throwing a party while his parents were in Kentucky. In the house, officers saw numerous open containers of alcohol. Twenty minors were arrested for underage alcohol possession; they ranged in age from 17 to 19 and came from Berwyn, Oak Park, Stickney, Chicago, Brookfield, Westchester, Bellwood, Berkeley and Harwood Heights.

Idlers congregate at 3302 Kenilworth, annoy neighbors

Police were dispatched to 3302 Kenilworth to see about a disturbance involving several males congregating there. One of the loiterers was Rick Seroski, 47, of Cicero; he had an active warrant out of DuPage County for DUI and was arrested.

Olds attacked by angry rock-throwing women

A resident of the 3500 block of Harvey was awakened by banging sounds, and looked out to see three Hispanic females in their 20s yelling profanity and throwing large landscaping-type stones at a blue Oldsmobile. The witness says they fled southbound in a silver car; it is unclear what the Oldsmobile had done to incur their wrath.

Burger King inner sanctum invaded by incoherent man

Employees of Burger King, 2147 S. Oak Park Avenue, reported a very drunk, incoherent man kept trying to enter the kitchen and did enter the office, where he stared at the safe. Witnesses showed police the man in a car in the parking lot; the 37-year-old Chicago man was ticketed for the disturbance.

Fruit bowl used as weapon

Calls came in about a disturbance in the 1900 block of Grove. As officers approached, they could hear a loud altercation in a first floor apartment. They were met at the door by a crying 31-year-old woman. She said she had caught her boyfriend, age 29, phoning another woman ; they argued about it, then he punched her in the face, threw her to the floor and kicked her back and stomach as she lay there. When she stood up, he took a metal fruit bowl and began using it to smack her in the head. The officer could see the woman had a bloody right ring finger. When officers tried to talk to the boyfriend about the incident, he refused to discontinue a cellphone conversation he was having. He was arrested for domestic battery.

Girlfight in bar

Police responded to a disturbance at Lalo's, 3011 S. Harlem, where a a 25-year-old Chicago woman reported she had had an argument with two women she did not know. As they exited Lalo's bar, both women reportedly hit the victim in the face with their fists, then one hit her on the side of the head with a bottle. The alleged attackers, a 25-year-old Cicero woman and a 24-year-old from Chicago Ridge, admitted striking the victim, but said "she hit us first".
