Vandal-placed cinderblock damages city car
March 13, 2007, 4:28 AM
An officer was flagged down and informed of a large cinderblock someone had placed in the center of the roadway in the 1200 block of East Avenue; the man said this has occurred each night for the past two nights. The officer found the cinderblock in the middle of the northbound lane, with skidmarks on the street suggesting a vehicle had already struck it. Meanwhile, a Berwyn city inspector called the police to report that while driving her city vehicle, a green 1996 Ford Taurus, she had seen the cinderblock too late to keep from driving over it and hitting it.

Sequelae of barfight: car vandalism, threats
March 11, 2007, 7:12 AM
One of the victims in the fight at Windsor Sports Bar a few hours earlier awoke to see her ex-boyfriend drive past her residence at 7 AM. Suspicious, she checked her '93 Lexus, parked in the 1900 block of Harvey, and found three of its tires slashed. She said the ex has damaged tires in the past. The victim phoned the ex, a Cicero man in his twenties, to ask why he did it. He said because she got his new girlfriend arrested a few hours earlier at the Windsor Sports Bar, adding that she should a)watch out and b)was going to get "f---ed up." The victim had an order of protection, now expired, against the man, who lives with his mom and has a fake ID with a different name. The woman signed a complaint against him for the vandalism.
