A 23-year-old Berwyn woman living on 13th told police she let her coworker take her 1999 Ford Taurus to work on it. He was supposed to return it by 9 the previous evening, yet both he and the car had vanished. The Taurus owner kept calling him and going to his apartment to no avail. The man, a 38-year-old living in the 1600 block of Ridgeland, had argued with his wife the previous night; she said he drove off in the Taurus. His brother suggested he might be found in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, as he has friends there. Checks of the man and his brother show both have extensive criminal histories including drug arrests; in addition, the missing man has an active warrant. The vehicle was reported as stolen.

The Taurus owner called police to say she had her car back; the man who took it called her to say she'd find it in the Dominick's parking lot in North Riverside with the keys inside. Police are still looking for the man because of the warrant.
