Police responded to a call about a burglary in progress. A 41-year-old man in the 3200 block of Wenonah looked out his back window and saw a stranger in the act of rolling his lawnmower out the service door of his garage. When the homeowner yelled at him, the subject left the mower, ran to the alley and jumped into a gray Buick Century. The homeowner got the license plate number. Police ran the plate and found it belonged to a car stolen earlier on the north side of Chicago. They took no prints because the homeowner had handled items after the suspect fled. Entry to the garage was via the unlocked service door. The suspect, a white or Hispanic man, about 45, 5'8", medium build and black hair, is still at large.
