Bat-wielding man threatens people

Police were dispatched to check on some men fighting in the 3700 block of Clinton. There they saw two men from Maywood and Berwyn trying to grab the arms of a third, younger, man, Larry C. Green, Jr., of Chicago, who was holding an aluminum baseball bat above his head. Police ordered the 23-year-old three times to drop the bat. When he finally handed it over, Green and the Maywood man began punching each other. Police used pepper spray to break them up. The dispute apparently arose from an argument between the bat-wielder and his daughter’s mom. Police were told Green grabbed the woman’s wrist and threw her down, then began to walk around outside holding the bat in an aggressive manner. He was arrested and charged with battery and aggravated assault.

An officer was called to the 1400 block of Wisconsin, where a 19-year-old Berwyn woman reported an unknown person had shattered the windshield of her 2000 Nissan Altima. It appeared to have been done by a baseball bat; no suspects or witnesses.
