Police were dispatched to a disturbance near Ogden and Ridgeland, where they found a 21-year-old woman crying and saying her live-in boyfriend hit her. She said both were drinking and that he had been in a bad mood all day but she did not know why. They argued and the man pushed the woman to the floor, choking and slapping her. The woman fled into the hallway of their apartment building, where he pulled her to the floor by her hair. The victim ran outside and down the street, where he caught up and hit her again. When police came to the couple's address in the 3200 block of Ridgeland to arrest him, he had fled on foot. He was found in the 6500 block of Fairfield and charged with one count of domestic battery.
