A 47-year-old Berwyn man living in the 3500 block of Elmwood got a phonecall from a neighbor that someone was peeking in one of his bedroom windows. The homeowner ran to the back of the house and saw for himself that, indeed, a man was looking into his teenage daughter's bedroom window as she changed clothes. The dad yelled, causing the Peeping Tom to run away from the window to a car parked in front of the house, in which the offender fled north on Elmwood. Police spoke with the neighbor, who described the peeper as an Hispanic man about 30, between 5'5" and 5'8", with long, black curly hair in a ponytail and wearing black-framed eyeglasses. The neighbor reported he'd seen the same man walking in the gangway about three weeks earlier. The getaway car was described as a dark-colored Chevy Malibu. No arrests, although when police later the same evening stopped a car matching that description, the men inside got out and yelled profanities at the officer, accusing him of "picking on them."
