A 64-year-old woman living in the 1400 block of Lombard had her bag snatched right off her front step as she unlocked her front door. When she set down the totebag, containing her purse, a heavyset man, white or Hispanic, ran up the steps, grabbed the totebag and fled across the street into the gangway of another house. The thief wore a blue hoody and dark pants. The woman whose gangway he ran into saw him dash through her yard, jump the fence and enter a white "beater" car containing three other males. The beater sped northbound through the alley. The stolen purse held credit cards and $145 cash.
