A 20-year-old woman met police at the door of her apartment in the 1600 block of Elmwood, holding her face and looking fearfully back over her shoulder. She said her boyfriend had already left, but officers did not believe her and asked to come inside. Behind her, police found a Chicago man, age 31, who said he had no ID to show them. He gave a name that came back "no record" on the computer. He claimed they argued but her never hit her. Officers believed her injured face said otherwise and arrested him for domestic battery.
