A large unattended bonfire was reported burning on the grass in a backyard in the 1200 block of Wisconsin. When police and fire personnel arrived, a drunken 38-year-old man emerged from the residence in an aggressive manner, saying "It's my yard and I can do what I want." Officers called for backup; the man told police to "get out of my f---in face" and spat in the face of one officer. He struggled so hard against being handcuffed, officers were obliged to pepper spray him to get control. The man was put in the ambulance so paramedics could help remove the spray, but he continued to struggle, swear and spit; he was arrested for reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and battery of an officer.
