A couple in their 80s reported being robbed in their home in the 3600 block of Highland. The man heard noises in the basement. He went downstairs to find a window broken and the ironing board overturned, and a man in a ski mask holding a carving knife.
The man said "I need money. I need about $50". He followed the homeowner up into the kitchen, where the homeowner handed $55 to the intruder. The masked man fled via the backdoor, which the homeowner had to unlock for him.
The masked man, about 5 foot 5 and 150 pounds, appeared to be in his teens or twenties and spoke with an accent, possibly Spanish.
